2018 enke: Ignition Program Winter Intake (April-July 2018)
We’re searching for ninety (90) young people with leadership and facilitation experience to be part of our 2018 Igniter Team. This is volunteer and leadership program from April-July 2018.
The enke: Ignition Program is a specialised volunteer and social action program designed for exceptional post-secondary students and recent graduates. We work with exceptional young adults, connecting them to a diverse, active network, equipping participants with skills and experience to increase employability, and inspiring entrepreneurial thinking in young people entering the workplace.
enke: Igniters commit to a 3 month program in advanced youth coaching and facilitation with a focus on practical application and building experience in the field. Skill development focuses on personal leadership development, youth coaching and training, team management, designing and applying experiential training content. After initial training, all skill development comes from structured opportunities for the practical application of all they have learned in the field. One of the most important roles for Igniters is as the main conduits of delivery for the enke: Trailblazer Program kick-off event – the enke: Forum
- Between the ages 18-30 years old
- Have previous facilitation experience, social awareness and interest in youth development
- Participants can be working or attending post-secondary studies (part-time or full-time)
- Able to commit to all program dates (see below).
- For this intake we will prioritise individuals based in the Free State, however we encourage all interested to apply.

Our program is multifaceted and appeals to many different kinds of people from many different backgrounds and experiences. Whether you’re looking to boost your CV, make a difference in other people’s lives or just want to do something different and new – the enke: Ignition Program fits in for all these needs.
Overall, we’re looking for committed and dependable individuals who are eager to develop their facilitation skills and contribute to youth-led social change.
We select participants based on, social awareness, leadership, critical engagement and achievement. We also select applicants based on their leadership potential and over the course of the program we are able to identify those who will realise that potential and demonstrate true leadership.
Are there any costs?
There is no direct costs for participants, although they will need to cover transport costs for attendance/participation in program activities. (Participation in the program is fully sponsored through enke’s partnerships. This sponsorship is valued at R6,000 per person and includes all training materials, experiences, accommodation, and meals during program activities.)
