Pertunia: Creating a strong community

Pertunia believes in the value of mentorship and learning through experience. Her community action project uses peer-to-peer mentorship to address the challenges that young people in her Limpopo community of Tzaneen are facing. She also runs bi-monthly interactive sessions to not only discusses immediate issues being faced by the youth, but to also encourage the young people in attendance to brainstorm solutions that they can implement to address these issues.

Pertunia hopes that younger attendees of the interactive sessions and mentorship programs will benefit a lot from being exposed to older positive role models within their communities.
